Romano Freddi manages an industrial realm which includes Mantua Surgelati Spa, Bustaffa Spa, Columbus Srl and Effegi Spa. Leader in the European market, Mantua Surgelati produces ice cream, frozen and precooked pizza. Bustaffa is engaged in production of fresh cheeses, whereas Columbus concentrates its efforts on tomatoes and their byproducts. Last but not least, Effegi is specialised in deep-frozen fish products. Recently put into function in the historic company seat were avant-gardist technologies applied in the conversion of the facilities to a line of frozen pizza cooked on wood. Sales are increasing all over Europe, with a sensible presence even outside the continent, and the export quota is significant at 65% of total billings.
